Week 1 - Food

There are those parties, reunions, or receptions when you're unfortunately seated with people you have never met before. General topics for conversation enter your mind, but none of them sound worthy or able to substantially carry the dialogue very far. After several painful minutes of brain-wracking, the equivalent to a class dismissal bell alights your ears -- "The table is now open. Let's eat!" Thank the good Lord Jesus for food. To avoid awkward conversations, eat. To prevent cheeky hosts from "volun-telling" you to join their games, eat. To evade boredom of the surrounding events, eat eat eat. But other than it's usefulness in prevention and avoidance, food is sustenance to the body. I love food, and I'm thankful that the Lord has made it possible to construct uniquely expressive flavors with the edible resources He has created. Although I may complain about my ever-expanding body, I will never ever give up food & flavors. Life is much too short to skimp out in the delectable & hearty meals. I say, dive into the luscious and enjoy like it's your last.

Thank you, Lord, for food.
